Once cadets are selected and accept an offer of participation, they can apply for the co-op program separately through the UCDSB website.

The 351 Silver Star Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron is located in the vibrant community of Unionville, within the City of Markham, Ontario.

All of our cadet activities are supervised by screened adults. In order to continue to provide a safe and encouraging environment for our cadets, we need your help. Many of our staffs are parents of cadets with no previous experience. Contact us now to get involved.

Recruiting 2019

351 will be holding two recruiting info / registration nights for 2019 on Mon 16 and Thu 19 Sep at Bur Oak Secondary School cafetorium starting 1900 hrs (7pm). It is required for new joiners to attend one of the two evenings along with completed forms and support documents. Please ensure you arrive at 1900 hrs and the whole evening may take approx 2 hours (presentation followed by paperwork).

Transfers can be brought up to the AdmO and will be considered on case-by-case basis.

CNE Warrior Day Parade

351 has a limited opportunity to participate in the Canadian National Exhibition Warriors Day Parade. This parade is an annual event paying tribute to members of the military, veterans, EMS, and cadets.

Participation is limited to 20 cadets and includes free admission to the CNE for the day.

Anticipated timing: Departure 0900 17 Aug 19, Return 1600 17 Aug 19.

Dress: C-2B.

Registration Helpers

Any Level 4+ cadets wishing to help out with the registration nights (Mon 16 / Thu 19 Sep 19) can express their interest below. Cadets must be able to commit to both nights 1830 - 2130 hrs in order to ensure smooth operation. In the Remarks indicate your preference to help out with 1) Admin, 2) Computer data entry, or 3) Uniform measurements. Candidates will be contacted individually.

We're also looking for a cadet experienced in setting up computer / networking equipment. If interested, include your experience in the Remarks section as well.

Supply

Cadets no longer with the squadron should return their washed uniform on supply or parade night and include the return form.

Mandatory Training

Mandatory trainings are required to advance a cadet's career and include:
- NCO development (Level 3 and up)

- Aircrew Survival (FTX) (1 of 2 weekends)
   4-6 Oct / 15-17 May (TBC)
- Marksmanship Day (1 of 2 days)
   2 / 3 Nov
- Tagging days
  (2 half-day shifts each weekend)
   Fall: 18-20 Oct
   Spring: 17-19 Apr
- Remembrance Day Parade
   9 Nov
- Santa Claus Parade
   23 Nov (TBC)
- Annual Review
   7 Jun

Attendance is strictly required.

Gliding Days

Cadets get an intro flight in a glider, learn about flying, and have some outdoor sports fun.
