Annual Markham Santa Claus Parade - 29 Nov 2025

351 Staff and cadets will participate in the annual Markham Santa Claus Parade on 29 Nov 2025. 

Cadets will gather at 1000 hrs at the form-up location at Parade Line-up Number "28" along Highway 7 East of Main Street. Cadets can be dropped off at the location below and walk to the form-up point, the line-up number will be marked on the road. Cadets will be dismissed at 1230 hrs at the Markham Museum (9350 Markham Rd). 

Cadets are to wear C3D. Cadets without the required uniform parts are to wear a white dress shirt, black pants, black tie, and a dark civilian sweater. Please dress according to the weather, including the cadet parka or civilian jacket, gloves, and hat.

Cold Weather Field Training Exercise (FTX) - 12-14 Dec 2025

Staff and cadets from 351 Squadron will participate in a Cold Weather FTX on 12-14 Dec 2025 at Woodland Trails Scout Camp,  14919 Kennedy Rd, Stouffville, L4A 4B7.

This exercise will be a parent drop-off and pick-up activity. Cadets will complete mandatory training requirements X90 POs. ALPs will be assigned instructional and leadership duties during the exercise, as required to support their level training objectives. 

ONLY selected cadets will receive joining instructions via email. Cadets who are not selected for this exercise will participate in the next FTX in April.

Wearing of the Poppy

Please see the reference below for the positioning of the poppy. 
Cadets are encouraged to wear the poppy on all uniforms (or black and white) from the last Friday in October (31 Oct) until Remembrance Day (11 Nov) to commemorate Canadians who sacrificed in battle.

Marksmanship & Leadership Day

351 RCACS will hold a Marksmanship & Leadership Weekend on Saturday 15 Nov 2025, and Sunday, 16 Nov 2025, at John Graves Simcoe Armoury, 215 Industrial Pkwy S, Aurora, ON, L4G 3V2. 

This activity provides mandatory training opportunities. Cadets are required to sign up for one (1) of the two (2) training days. Each day has a maximum capacity of 130 cadets. If one day reaches full capacity, cadets may be reassigned to the other day based on availability. 

Sign-up is due by 7 Nov 2025, and the nominal roll will be posted on the Squadron Teams Channel no later than 9 Nov 2025.

Joining Instruction 
Effective Speaking Team

Hello 351!! 
The Effective Speaking Program is back! Over 8 weeks, cadets will build confidence, develop leadership skills, and learn how to communicate effectively through public speaking. At the end of the program, cadets will have the opportunity to compete in the Squadron Effective Speaking Competition, held in early 2026. The winner will proceed to the Wing Effective Competition in March 2026. 

Before the program officially begins, we're holding an Information Session on Wednesday, October 29th, 2025, from 1800 - 1900 hrs at St. Julia Billart Catholic School (2070 Bur Oak Ave). Dress is civilian attire. 

This session is open to all cadets. Whether you're already interested or just curious, come out to learn more!! We will also be doing sign-ups for the program that evening, so if you already know you want to participate, this is your chance to attend!

Marksmanship Workshop

351 will hold a series of marksmanship workshops on 15, 22, and 29 of October 2025. This workshop series is designed to help cadets who are interested in marksmanship and have shown strong shooting skills further develop their abilities. Participants will receive focused coaching and practice opportunities to prepare for a competition tryout. 

Cadets who wish to attend must sign up by 14 Oct 2025 and must be available for all 3 sessions.

Online Ground School 2025-26

The National Ground School Program (NGSP) is required for those applying for the Glider Pilot Training Course (GPTC) or the Power Pilot Training Course (PPTC) this training year. The national lesson runs from November 2025 to January 2026. It concludes with a qualifying exam in January/February 2026, which forms part of the overall selection score. 

Sign-up for the National Ground School Program is due by 10 Oct 2025. 

Important Information (Please read) 

Prospective Applicants



  • MUST meet all general selection criteria listed in 8060-7 Air Cadet National Training Selection Process. 
  • Selected cadets for NGSP will be notified via their Cadet365 emails. The cadet will have access to online and recorded lessons, self-study material, and a questions and answers forum. Lessons will be delivered at different times across to accommodate time zones and language.

Expended Access
  • Younger cadets who do not meet the selection criteria but are interested in learning could apply for access to the training materials for future preparation. 

National Training, Regional Delivery

  • Format: Online
  • Standardized lesson plans, visual aids, and notes in both official languages will be used to prepare cadets for the Qualifying Exam, a key component of the selection process. 
  • Lesson Period: From 1 November 2025 to 21 January 2026, with ten weeks of live lessons and one week for review. 
  • Qualifying Exam: Delivered 1st week in February (dates TBD) at local squadron.

Local Support
  • 351 Silver Star Squadron will run local classes to support our future pilots. Class information will be sent to the prospective participants. 
  • Training is supported by licensed pilots and flight instructors. 
  • The prospective participants should attend these classes to prepare for the best results on the course entry exam. 
351 Gliding Day 2 - 11 Oct

A gliding day will be held on Saturday, 11 Oct 2025 at CFB Borden. Transportation and lunch will be provided. 

Cadets who are interested in participating are required to sign up HERE by Friday, 3 October
2025. The Joining Instruction (JI) will only be sent to the selected cadets via Cadet365 email. 
Please note that sign-up does not guarantee a spot. 
2025 Biathlon Team - Sign-up

The 351 Biathlon Team will hold practices on Saturdays, starting 20 Sept, 2025. Selected cadets will compete in the Central Ontario Area Biathlon Competition in Nov 2025. 

Practices: Saturdays, beginning 20 Sept
Time: 1830 - 2100 hrs
Location:145 Royal Crest Court, Unit 28, Markham, ON. 
Selection: Try-out will be held in Oct
Dress: Athletic wear and running shoes. Cadets are recommended to dress in layers.

Phase one of training will be endurance training in preparation for the Run & Shoot Competition. Cadets who are interested in the training should sign up by 18 Sept. 
Supply - Uniform Exchange Process is Renewed

Cadets with ill-fitting uniform parts may submit an exchange request for a better size through the Dashboard. To do this, click the "Exchange" button located at the bottom of the dashboard under the "Supply" section. 

Important Information: 


  • Pick-up Location: All exchanged must be picked up from the Squadron Office on a designated Supply Night.
  • Availability: If the requested parts are not in stock, you will be notified. You will receive a second notification once your order is ready for pick-up. 
  • Condition: Please ensure all uniforms being returned are clean and have been washed.

Walk-Ins: Cadets may drop by during Supply Hours without a prior request. However, please be advised that walk-in exchanges are subject to available inventory and cannot be guaranteed.

We encourage you to use the online system to ensure the best chance of availability.

Squadron Standing Down

Please be advised that 351 Silver Star Air Cadet Squadron will be standing down effective 1 Jul. During this period, there will be no regular training, parades, or activities. 

We encourage all members to take this time for rest and preparation as we gear up for the next phase of operations. 

Further details regarding the next training cycle and upcoming events will be communicated soon.

Supply

EXCHANGE: Cadets with ill-fitting uniform parts can submit requests for exchange for a size that fits from the dashboard: Click Exchange at the bottom of the dashboard under Supply.

Please note: pick up will be at the Squadron Office on the Supply night. If parts are not in stock, you will be notified when the parts will be ready to pick up.

Supply Nights will be on Thursday of each month, Sept 11th, Sept 25th, Oct 23rd, Nov 20th and Dec 11th between 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Cadets can drop by without advance request, but no guarantee that the uniform parts are in stock. Please bring back the washed uniform to exchange.

RETURN: Cadets no longer with the squadron should return their washed uniform to supply. Returns are accepted every Tuesday during regular training at Bur Oak Secondary School. Drop off the uniform on the Supply Desk. Please include the return form.

Cadets with outstanding supply requests are to follow up with the Supply WO.
